The last few weeks have been dragging as far as the house process. It took 2 weeks for them to finalize the electrical inspection and in that time nothing was being done. It really stinks when you don't see any progress happening.
But FINALLY the inspection happened and now there is insulation...HOORAY. Hey, at this point I will take ANY progress and I mean ANY progress. The sheetrock has been delivered so hopefully that will take place soon. In the meantime I have been working on getting our current home ready to sale. My house currently is a disaster with boxes everywhere that are being filled up in between minor home improvement projects. In a few weeks we will be listing it for sale so we want to make it look as nice as possible.
Here are some new pics of the interior of our new home.

Interior Details
I absolutely love that Taylor asks me if we can go peek a the house progress. I know that she gets just as excited as we do. Since Jason is in the whirlwind of tax season, the girls and I went alone to check the latest status. Luckily, we found a few things that were new. Of course these small things aren't anything fabulous or super exciting but we'll take it! So here are the pics...

We are Insiders
After the workers left yesterday we snuck inside (seems funny to sneek inside your own home) to get an inside view of our home. It was a true realization that this is OUR HOME! Taylor was so happy running up the stairs to her new room, Jason admiring his new media room and of course I loved entering into my new craft space! There is still a lot to go but everyday progress is being made. Sorry for the quality of the pics..it was around 8 last night and we were relying on the flash.

Let the building begin!
This was a pretty sight to see during our first visit to our new lot....PURCHASED! We sure have waited many years to see that sign.
On our next major visit we saw the plumbing added and also the frame for the concrete foundation. All these little things will lead to the final product. So excited that our lot is in a cul de sac! Also you can see that so many homes around ours are also being built. I am sure there are a lot of excited families anxious to move in just as we are!

Let's take a tour
Luckily the floorplan we are building is available in a model home form. Here are pictures from our initial visit. Let's take a tour of the interior of the model home...
Isn't this home just beautiful!? We wish we could purchase this home with all the furnishings included. How nice would that be? I guess we can't have everything we want. LOL!

Time for a change...
Moving into a bigger home was something we have wanted for awhile but unfortunately it just wasn't in the cards. Jason and I both agreed that we wouldn't move until we could get the home we truly wanted and could afford. Our current living situation isn't a bad one but this was always understood to be our "starter home". Another reason we wanted to move was to relocate the kids to a better school... a more well rounded school. We had a specific school in mind which allowed us only a handful of neighborhoods to choose from to find a home. For a couple of weeks we drove around the neighborhoods and took note of what each builder had to offer. Jason sent me into the model homes to narrow down which ones I liked while he was at work (meaning I did the dirty work and he just came in for the final decision LOL). The two builders it came down to was: Ashton Woods or Lennar. When Jason finally came in to pick between the two, he said without hesitation the liked the Lennar Edmonton floor plan. This home was PERFECT for our family. One of the major deciding factors for us was that there are 2 bedrooms downstairs (the master and a second bedroom). Since our special needs child needs to remain downstairs for safety reasons this second bedroom option was totally what she needed. The third bedroom was upstairs separated from the rest of us which would allow our other daughter to have her own privacy. Here is the floorplan and model that ultimately helped us make our decision.
We also purchased the optional media room (which takes the place of the unfinished attic section) which then increased the total house size to 3100 sq ft. The floorplan is amazing and totally practical for our family. This when we called in our friend/realtor Tara Hall with Remax and told her that we were ready to get this show on the road and start building. Let the excitment begin~
